Muscovites found the Cresland treasures in Gorky Park

12 November 2011

The star characters of the quest "Cresland Treasures" Bunny, Leo and Robotop arrived to the national capital on the giant promotional truck. On November 12 the heroes of the quest acted as guides for children and parents in the Cresland dreamland set up in the Central Theme Gorky Park in Moscow. At the end of the journey all participants were given prizes and gifts. But the most important everybody participating in the game was equipped with useful knowledge that young passengers must travel only inside car seats.
Bunny, Leo and Robotop are the principal characters of the quest "Cresland Treasures". They arrived to the capital inside giant promo trucks. Heroes of the adventure game accommodate themselves comfortably in the truck in car seats and advised to follow the suite to all children. "Cresland Treasures" is not only a fantastic game, it is also an educational and instructive campaign which dove-tails into the large-scale social campaign "Car Seat to Every Child". The all-Russian activity "Car Seat to Every Child!” is visiting various cities in the country. The activities already took place in Kaluga, Tula, Tambov and Ryazan, and now the caravan arrived to Moscow. The activity was initiated and organized by the General Directorate of the State Traffic Police in Russia, with support of the "Russian Union of Car Insurers' and NGO "Risk Free Road Traffic».
The main goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of child passengers killed and injured in road traffic accidents and make it clear first of all to children and through them – to their parents that the safest ride for a child inside the car is the ride when the child is fastened in a car seat. Children are the most exposed to category of car passengers. In two similar motor vehicle accidents children suffer much graver consequences than adults. The use of car seats dramatically mitigates the risk of sustaining injuries in MVA. However, the majority of parents ignore the rules of safe transportation of young passengers and do not use car seats.
On Saturday, November 12 Bunny, Leo and Robotop invited children to the Cresland country that was set up in the Central Theme Gorky Park in Moscow. The pursuit dealt with finding treasures in the outdoor game town that was developed for this purpose and under a large tent. The visitors to the central park - parents with children - participated in outdoors games. The contests "Fasten seat belt," "Guard seat," "Get prepared to travel" were orchestrated by anchors – a well known car racer Natalie Freidin, a designer - Antonina Shapovalova and the host of "Autoradio" Kate Karenina. The anchors asked children to draw a dream car. Children joyfully drew on paper the contours of fantastic "iron horses".
The visitors to the park who took part in the adventure game learned a lot. They found out how to buckle children in the car, how to choose a car seat for their children and why a ride inside the car was extremely dangerous for children without restraints. Having finished the route in the Cresland country all participants received prizes and gifts. But most useful was the useful knowledge. The quest made adults think about the safe means of transportation of children in the car and that there was no substitute to using car seats. During ten months of 2011 as many as 253 children suffered injuries in Moscow in motor vehicle accidents. In 158 cases neither seat belts nor child restraints were used.
- We hope that the holding this event will contribute to improving the situation with child road traffic injuries on the streets of Moscow - said the head of the Propaganda Department of the traffic safety and media relations Office of the State Traffic Police, Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow Artem Ivanov. We also hope that these activities will help raising the legal culture of the people, the culture of behavior on the road leading thereby to protecting life and health of the maximum number of young road users in the capital that is the "youngest passengers".
